The Indian pacific is the only real trans-continental railway in Australia!!

The Indian Pacific

The famous Indian Pacific is an adventure that delivers to travellers one of the greatest rail journeys on earth. There is no better way to see and feel the magic of Australia.

The Indian Pacific is the last true trans-continental train journey remaining in the world today.

This amazing train traverses Australia from coast to coast (linking Perth to Sydney via Adelaide), travelling between the sparkling waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

From the barren Nullabor Plain, where the uniquely Australian outback landscape stretches as far as the eye can see, to the lush green beauty of the Blue Mountains, the Indian Pacific traverses some of Australia’s most spectacular scenery. The Indian Pacific spends the majority of its time removed from civilisation. For 478 km of its 4352 km journey, the Indian Pacific travels the longest straight stretch of railway in the world, across the Nullabor Plain.

For two and a half days travellers are suspended in time in a well appointed, spacious train. The journey can be undertaken in First, Holiday or Coach Class with the comfort of restaurants, lounges and the company of other guests.

The wildlife is sparse, but you will spot dingoes, kangaroos and birdlife, including the Indian Pacific's emblem, the wedge-tailed eagle, with its incredible wing span of up to two metres.
